The HeliMods Graduate Development Program (GDP) is a structured, two year course where
graduates across various disciplines learn on the job, supported by mentors, subject matter experts and peers. HeliMods offers you, as Aerospace and Mechanical engineers, the opportunity to be part of a whole of life engineering solution, from initial concept design and project evaluation through CAD, testing, production, install and whole-of-life maintenance.
We give you, our graduates, responsibility early on for tasks and deadlines which you are given training and support to deliver. Frequent meetings with other engineers at all levels allow you to see where and how your work fits into the project and company as a whole. As your experience and confidence grows, you will be given more complex and detailed tasks, which will extend your knowledge and capability, while also giving you the opportunity to learn new work methodologies, software and technologies and ways of getting the job done.
We don’t pigeonhole our graduates into doing just one kind of thing, we like our graduates to be well-rounded professionals who are flexible and able to adapt to the many different variables that are a normal part of our business. To facilitate this you will find yourself thrown into a variety of different projects which have different requirements, which may be analysis, production or design focused, require research or creative input, which may be individually or team led. You will have opportunities to innovate, suggest ideas, take the lead and demonstrate your comprehension of complex theories and practical application of these. At the completion of the program you will have had both a chance to excel at your strengths while also learn and grow in areas new to you.
At HeliMods we attract the best and the brightest. There is always someone to learn from and ask questions of. Both informal and formal mentoring catch ups allow you to capably navigate what may be your first full time position. As our graduate team is very close, there are also daily opportunities to quiz your fellow grads and interns about technical or non-technical queries you might have.
In addition to daily opportunities to challenge your technical ability, we offer our graduates the opportunity to extend themselves through continuing professional development and management skills training and to gain exposure to the global industry through travel and attendance at international helicopter events.
We recruit graduates in their final year of an engineering degree. Alternatively you may have
graduated in the past two years but have been working, travelling or developing yourself through volunteer work or community service.
