The HeliMods team were honoured to host the Hon Karen Andrews MP, Minister for Industry, Science and Technology, and Andrew Wallace MP, Federal Member for Fisher, at our Sunshine Coast Facility today, in support of securing our first major export contract for our world-first aeromedical technology – the Powered Aero Loader (PAL™). In 2017, HeliMods was awarded a $1M Accelerating Commercialisation grant through the Australian Government’s Entrepreneurs’ Programme, which enabled us to take the PAL™ to the next stage and ultimately, to now launch into the global marketplace.
“What a great outcome for the Coast,” said HeliMods Founder and MD, Will Shrapnel. “This shows that if you have a great idea and are prepared to invest in R&D, it’s possible – with support – to commercialise those great ideas and compete on an international stage with great success”.
While visiting HeliMods, Minister Andrews and Andrew Wallace also had the opportunity to learn more about our capabilities and to try out some of our key technologies including our Augmented Reality experience.
